This 3-Way DisplayPort MST Hub (Multi-Stream Transport Hub) allows up to three DisplayPort monitors to be connected in either mirror or extend modes from a single DisplayPort v1.4 DP++ or better source device which is rated to handle the total intended bandwidth. Basically you have a full 8K @ 60Hz worth of bandwidth here (DisplayPort v1.4 HBR3 spec), which can be distributed to the 3 x DisplayPort outputs, for incredible multi-screen setups! This means it's possible to have two screens at 4K/60Hz or even three screens at 4K/60Hz with compatible hardware. (NOTE: Some ATI Graphics cards will only support 3-Screens at 4K/30Hz. MacOS does not support DisplayPort's MST Multi-Stream function, and will only Mirror the displays)
Support Resolutions and Refresh Rates
Enjoy your choice of a mirrored/cloned desktop, or an extended desktop by utilising the magic of Multi-Stream Transport (MST) on DisplayPort v1.4 hardware. This HBR3 (High Bit-rate 3) compatible MST Hub supports both video and audio for a truly immersive computer experience for resolution combinations under 32Gbps total bandwidth.
20cm of flex cable to the MST Hub gives you clearance to avoid other sockets at the back of your PC or laptop. A Micro-USB cable is included to provide power to the MST, and should be attached to a powered USB socket which can deliver 5V/2A power (may not be suitable for some laptops on battery power).
Note: For maximum compatibility, a discreet ATI or Nvidia graphics card is recommended. Intel HD and other intergrated graphics or APU chipsets like those found in tablets or entry-level notebooks are not likely to be powerful enough to operate all three sockets at maximum resolution or refresh rate.
Setup Instructions
A Micro-USB 5V/2A connection is required for additional power (Micro-USB cable not included)
Mac-OS supports only SST (split-mode). Extended desktop MST mode is not available on DisplayPort v1.1 or Mac OS based hardware.
Intended for use with DisplayPort monitors. HDMI compatibility through DP++ Alternate Modes is not guaranteed, and results may vary depending on your hardware.
