I know first hand that a good LAN is subject to those of detrimental personal odour, so my solution is to hold your gaming tournaments in large, air-conditioned buildings and get generous with 30 metre patch leads! Hey; we don't want to hurt anybody's feelings! My Cat6 ethernet cabling will win hearts and minds with its on-chic 'jet black' pvc coating and better speed potential.
Don't fret, though; it's fully backwards compatible with older Cat5 equipment, so even budget conscious users running yesterday's hardware can plug and play without concern.
