Please note that these cables are the much smaller 2.5mm connector, not the standard 3.5mm 'common headphone plug' found on most smartphones and audio playback devices.

But in short, TRRS (aka 4-pole) 2.5mm audio jacks support audio and AV signals. While not as common as the 1/4 inch or 3.5mm jacks, the 2.5mm jack serves its purpose in more niche applications or where space is a concern. Please keep in mind that while the connector sizes may vary, the functionality remains the same across all jack cables.
