I learnt a lot about Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries while researching for our rechargeable battery range.
Did you know that the 1997 Toyota Prius wasn't the first car to use NiMH batteries? That honour goes to Honda and their EV plus earlier in 1997. The original Prius had a pretty small battery compared to EV's and hybrids today at just 1.78kWh and weighing a substantial 50kg. This battery pack used just 40x D cell NiMH batteries.
This four pack of AAA sized rechargeable NiMH batteries may not get you as far in your Prius as those 40x D cells did back in 97', but they will run all of your regular AAA battery powered household items effortlessly. Almost anything that takes regular Alkaline batteries can run with a NiMH battery. Even though its overall voltage is lower, it stores as much, if not more energy than non-rechargeable batteries. Suitable for all low and most high power devices. Everything from TV remotes to gaming controllers, Christmas decorations to remote controlled cars and even high powered LED Torches.
At an impressive 850 milliampere hours* (mAh), tested by us, in house, using professional battery testing equipment, we can safely say you'll get almost the same run times out of your devices using our batteries as you would with non-rechargeables, plus you won't have to throw them out afterwards. Combined with our impressive battery chargers which carefully manage the health of your rechargeables, we're confident you'll see hundreds, if not thousands of cycles out of this product.
Taking Charge!
With rechargeable batteries, you'll need a way to keep them charged. We have carefully picked some of the best multi-format battery chargers so you can charge multi batteries, and multiple battery formats at one time to maximise their efficiency and capacity.
Specifications:
*These batteries indicate on their bodies that they're a 1100 mAh capacity. NiMH batteries are rarely the same actual capacity as what the manufacturer states in their advertising and some battery brands, even well known major brands can be out by up to 50% in practice. We've independently tested these batteries using professional battery testing equipment over many cycles and can confidently say that they're usually between 850 mAh and 870 mAh.
