I decided when testing the magnet on this grabber that it should be strong enough to find a small screw dropped on the floor. So I get a really, really tiny screw (think 2mm long, 0.5mm wide) and place it on the carpet where I can see it and wave the grabbing tool over the area where it is. Easy, perfect catch mulitple times, the magnet is great.
Then, when I'm heading back to my desk I actually drop and lose the screw, this screw that I actually really need, on grey and black flecked office carpet, fantasic. Not to worry I thought, I have this excellent grabbing tool right here in my hands ready to save this damsel in distress. A quick, 5 minute search pattern retracing my steps whilst waving this grabber around like the worlds smallest metal detector is all it took to strike gold! I'm definitely making this available to all my lovely customers now.
It features a highly flexible, spring loaded shaft, 4 powerful gripping fingers, aforementioned strong magnet (my hero) and a small LED light at the tip, for dark places. The LED light is more designed for longevity and very dark places instead of raw power and doesn't really help in bright places but is great the bottom of an engine bay or under a desk for example. The spring loaded gripping fingers are very strong and could easily handle a couple of kilograms if need be. Combined with the bendable flexiblilty to get around tight corners which also makes it easy to store in a small tool box, this all-in-one grabbing tool should be in every house in Australia!
