Distributing HDMI video and audio around a home, office, point-of-sale area or other venue can be tricky, but by leveraging CAT6 (either directly or via an existing Ethernet network) it's easier than ever to send a single source to one or multiple remote displays.
The Avencore Halon Series HDMI Extender kit allows 4K@30Hz HDMI (or lower) signals to be converted for transmission over TCP/IP in a variety of modes, with as much as 120 metres of cable distance possible at full resolution. IR returns is also catered for, allowing for the source remote to function from the remote display(s). Chroma 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 sources are supported. The only compromise is latency, with up to 350ms delay between the input and the output(s).
Each sender and receiver unit is powered by the included 5V AC adapters (one for each unit) and the whole kit is largely plug-and-play with only a reset button to easily force a new handshake if any signal is lost. This kit is sold complete, with everything you need for joining one local source to one remote display. Adding additional remote displays is easy if you have an existing Ethernet network by purchasing extra Receiver Kits - AV-H-EX412(Rx).
Note: It is recommended that you limit the HDMI cables used in this setup to 2m on each end to achieve maximum performance.
